AIRTEC Defender Td5 & Puma performance intercooler upgrade
The AIRTEC Motorsport intercooler fits Defender Td5, 2.4 TDCI and 2.2 TDCI models. It replaces the smaller original Defender intercooler with a larger single-pass core, giving the engine more charge-air cooling capacity under load.
The main difference is volume. The original Defender intercooler has a capacity of around 5 litres, while the AIRTEC intercooler has a capacity of 11.7 litres. That is a 134% increase in capacity, supported by a 55% increase in frontal area compared with the standard intercooler.

The larger core gives the intercooler much more volume to work with on a remapped, tuned, towing or hard-working Defender. The increased frontal area also helps the intercooler make better use of the airflow available through the Defender grille.
AIRTEC uses cast end tanks to help direct airflow through the core efficiently. The outlets remain 50mm each side for standard Defender boost hose fitment.
Minor trimming of the original plastic mountings may be required. The intercooler is designed to fit models with air conditioning, and can also be fitted to non-air-con models with mild adjustment to the slam panel support stays as shown in the supplied instructions.

Warranty
Buy with confidence: all new parts sold by Twinwoods 4x4 include at least 12 months manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
Some products and brands may include a longer warranty period where this is provided by the manufacturer. Where applicable, this will normally be stated on the individual product page or covered by the manufacturer’s own warranty terms.
Warranty cover applies to manufacturing defects. It does not cover misuse, incorrect fitting, competition use unless stated, contamination, modification, damage during installation, normal wear and tear, or failure caused by an unrelated vehicle fault. For certain components, proof of professional fitment may be required.
Warranty claims may require the part to be returned for inspection and/or supplier testing before the claim is accepted. Any advance replacement is discretionary.
Warranty remedies relate to the part itself, meaning repair or replacement, or refund if those are not possible. Warranty does not cover labour, removal or refitting, diagnostics, consumables, travel or other incidental costs.
