Discovery 2 rear brakes take a lot of abuse – mud, road salt and towing heat all conspire to rust discs and glaze pads. This POWERSpec kit replaces everything in one go with upgraded components designed for harder use.
Dimpled and grooved discs help clear gases, rust and mud from the pad surface, while the performance pads offer a higher friction level than basic pattern pads, improving stability and stopping distances when the vehicle is loaded or towing.

- 2 × POWERSpec rear brake discs – black-coated, dimpled and grooved
- 4 × POWERSpec rear pads (R90 approved)
- 4 × Caliper slider pins
- 4 × Slider pin bolts
- 1 × Sachet of LOF / POWERSpec brake grease
- 2 × Disc retaining screws
(Contents may vary slightly by batch but will always be equivalent or better quality.)
Fitting & bedding-in notes
- Clean the disc mounting faces on the hubs thoroughly and check for corrosion around the handbrake shoes and backplate while you’re there.
- Make sure slider pins move freely in their boots and are lubricated with high-temp grease.
- After fitting, follow the same gentle bedding-in routine as the front kit – avoid heavy braking until the pads and discs have fully bedded in.
- Re-check wheel nuts and braking performance after the first 50–100 miles.
What else to check or replace at the same time
- Rear wheel bearings and hub seals (especially if there’s any play or rumbling)
- Handbrake shoes and cable condition
- Rear flexi hoses and steel brake pipes
- Diff and axle breathers – if you regularly go off-road, keeping these clear helps stop oil leaks onto the brakes
