Defender front vented brake caliper pair with stainless steel pistons
This front caliper pair fits Land Rover Defender vehicles running vented front brake discs, including Defender 90 models with vented discs and Defender 110/130 models from 1994 onwards where vented front discs are fitted. Includes the left and right front calipers together, replacing SEB500460 and SEB500470.
These are standard replacement calipers modified to include stainless steel pistons. This gives you a practical improvement over ordinary steel pistons, especially on vehicles exposed to road salt, mud, water or long periods of standing.
Front brake calipers are worth replacing when the pistons are corroded, the caliper is sticking, the pads are wearing unevenly, or the vehicle pulls under braking. If the existing calipers are already heavily corroded, replacing the full caliper pair is usually a cleaner repair than trying to rebuild worn original units.
These calipers are for vented front disc setups. Before ordering, check your existing front brakes if the vehicle has been modified or previously converted. After installation, bleed the braking system fully and check for correct pedal feel before road testing.
