Description
Defender vented front brake calipers with stainless steel pistons, supplied as a complete left- and right-hand pair. The right-hand caliper replaces SEB500460 and STC1266, while the left-hand caliper replaces SEB500470 and STC1267. Both calipers retain the standard Defender vented-disc layout, including the original disc size, brake pad type and mounting arrangement.
A better-specified replacement for Defenders regularly exposed to mud, water and winter road salt, or left standing for long periods between use.
Conventional steel caliper pistons can corrode once moisture reaches the working surface behind the dust seal. Corrosion can damage the seals and prevent the piston retracting cleanly, leading to sticking brakes, excessive heat, dragging pads and uneven wear. Stainless steel pistons give the exposed working surfaces much better resistance to rust, addressing one of the main weaknesses inside a standard Defender brake caliper.
Vehicle Fitment
Fits Defender 90 models equipped with vented front brake discs, together with Defender 110 and Defender 130 models from 1994 onwards using the vented front brake setup. These calipers are not suitable for Defenders fitted with solid front brake discs.

Standard UK shipments are normally sent with DPD. UK orders containing oils or fluids are normally sent with DHL where required, because some carriers restrict liquid shipments.

Warranty
Buy with confidence: all new parts sold by Twinwoods 4x4 include at least 12 months manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
Some products and brands may include a longer warranty period where this is provided by the manufacturer. Where applicable, this will normally be stated on the individual product page or covered by the manufacturer’s own warranty terms.
Warranty cover applies to manufacturing defects. It does not cover misuse, incorrect fitting, competition use unless stated, contamination, modification, damage during installation, normal wear and tear, or failure caused by an unrelated vehicle fault. For certain components, proof of professional fitment may be required.
Warranty claims may require the part to be returned for inspection and/or supplier testing before the claim is accepted. Any advance replacement is discretionary.
Warranty remedies relate to the part itself, meaning repair or replacement, or refund if those are not possible. Warranty does not cover labour, removal or refitting, diagnostics, consumables, travel or other incidental costs.
This warranty is in addition to your legal rights and does not reduce those rights.
