Discovery 2s are heavy trucks, and once you add bigger tyres, winch bumpers or camping gear the standard brakes can feel a bit underwhelming. This POWERSpec kit upgrades the front axle – where most of the braking happens – with vented, dimpled and grooved discs and a higher-friction pad compound.
The result is better initial bite, more confidence on steep descents and improved resistance to fade when the brakes get hot, without making the pedal snatchy in daily driving.

Technical details / kit contents (typical)
- 2 × POWERSpec vented front brake discs – black-coated, dimpled and grooved
- 4 × POWERSpec front brake pads (E-marked / R90 approved)
- 4 × Caliper slider pins
- 4 × Slider pin bolts
- 1 × Sachet of high-temperature brake grease
- Disc retaining screws
(Individual part numbers may vary slightly by batch but will always be equivalent quality.)
Fitting & bedding-in notes
- Clean hub faces thoroughly so the discs sit perfectly flat – any rust scale here can cause runout and vibration.
- Check slider pins and boots are free-moving and well-greased before final assembly.
- Once fitted, bed-in the pads and discs with a series of gentle to medium stops from moderate speed, avoiding hard emergency stops for the first 200–300 miles.
- Full performance comes in once the pad faces have mated properly to the disc surface.

- Front wheel bearings and hub seals
- Condition of flexi hoses and front brake pipes
- Brake fluid age – if more than 2 years old, bleed through with fresh DOT 4
- Front propshaft UJs and bushes if you’re chasing vibration at the same time as brake upgrades

Some products and brands may include a longer warranty period where this is provided by the manufacturer. Where applicable, this will normally be stated on the individual product page or covered by the manufacturer’s own warranty terms.
Warranty cover applies to manufacturing defects. It does not cover misuse, incorrect fitting, competition use unless stated, contamination, modification, damage during installation, normal wear and tear, or failure caused by an unrelated vehicle fault. For certain components, proof of professional fitment may be required.
Warranty claims may require the part to be returned for inspection and/or supplier testing before the claim is accepted. Any advance replacement is discretionary.
Warranty remedies relate to the part itself, meaning repair or replacement, or refund if those are not possible. Warranty does not cover labour, removal or refitting, diagnostics, consumables, travel or other incidental costs.
