Early Defender Td5 bonnet release cable
FSE100460 is a replacement bonnet release cable for early Defender Td5 models, VIN XA159807 to 1A622423. It runs from the interior bonnet release handle to the bonnet release mechanism, allowing the bonnet to be opened from inside the vehicle.
Bonnet release cables can stretch, seize, fray or break with age. If the bonnet release handle has gone loose, needs excessive force, or no longer opens the bonnet cleanly, the cable is one of the first parts to check.
Check the VIN before ordering, as Defender bonnet release cables are split by vehicle age and cable type. This is the early Td5 cable; later Defender Td5 models use a different cable.
