AMC replacement cylinder head for Defender Td5 and Discovery 2
This AMC Td5 cylinder head is for Land Rover Td5 engines fitted to Defender Td5 and Discovery 2 Td5 models. It is supplied as either an early 10P or late 15P version, so check your engine type and select the correct option before ordering.
The AMC head is a well-regarded replacement option when the original Td5 cylinder head is cracked, damaged, corroded, or no longer suitable to reuse during a top-end rebuild. It uses an improved design with double-thickness injector socket walls compared with the original Land Rover head.
Typical reasons for replacing a Td5 cylinder head include coolant loss, overheating damage, injector seating problems, fuel contamination issues, or a failed inspection once the head has been removed. A cylinder head replacement is a major job, so it is worth planning the related parts before the vehicle is stripped.
